Manchester Wedding DJ

On Saturday 22nd of March 2014 I was privileged to provide Alan & Clare Ellis with my “All Day Wedding Package”. This includes full Master of Ceremonies. The Venue was The Black Swan in Hollins Green which is an Award Winning Country Pub with small hotel. The venue has recently undergone a Million Pound refit by a local successful businessman. The day was fantastic and the venue is ideal for small to medium sized Wedding Parties. Stock Brick with seasoned wood floors gave the Wedding a real homely feel about it. Clare looked stunning and Alan dapper in his designer suit. To add to the emotion to the room I put in 18 Uplighters around the room. The effect was stunning with the venue staff complimenting me as were other vendors.

On the day I worked with a fantastic photographer called Paul Rittaler www.paulrittaler.com/ who really got involved in the day. By the end all the kids knew his name and vice versa.

The room was dressed by Alison with beautiful chair sashes, very classy Top Table and a stunning Wedding Arch.

The Cake was the work of the talented team from The Cheshire Cat Cake Company http://www.CheshireCatCakeCo.co.uk/ See the pictures it was perfectly executed to fit the theme.

The Singer Wayne certainly kept the guests entertained and I can say he looked very smart and used state of the art kit. This guy can sing also.

Pro Mobile Conference 2014

Pro Mobile Conference 2014 was a brilliant meeting of the Mobile DJ Industries top talent. The Conference was over two days at The Crowne Plaza Hotel, Heythrop Park, Oxford. Over the 2 days we had 6 speakers deliver a wide range of seminars. The Key Note speaker was Randy Bartlett. Now Randy is one of the Top USA Wedding DJs commanding fees $0000s over the local average. He delivered a brilliant couple of seminars over the 2 days. Rob Brown helped teach us about networking and referalls. The highlight being the practical workshop on how to network by working the room. This was extremely worthwhile and it opens your eyes to new ways of doing things.

Day 2 Randy gave his second seminar and we also got some marketing hints and tips from the very talented Howard Wing. Howard is The Wedding Industry Awards 2014 Best Wedding Entertainer. He is from the North West and is at the very top of his game.

Overall the conference was excellent value for money.

The Monastery Wedding DJ Entertainment

The Monastery Wedding DJ Entertainment

The Monastery is one of the most beautiful venues I have ever had the privilege to deliver Wedding Entertainment. It’s grand, classy and the staff are fantastic.

The positives were:

-Beautiful Venue

-Outside Garden

-Marquee for cocktail hour

-Plenty of room for the DJ/Entertainment to fully set up

The considerations were:

-Location vs your bulk of guests (Do you need to hire a coach)

-Accoustically the Monastery is so big. The evening music will be loud enough but not overly so. Just bear this in mind. The ceilings are so tall it sucks the sound away from the dance floor. I have never found this to be detrimental to the success of the event though.

It is a perfect size for medium birthday parties and gets booked up months in advance. This is a local venue to me and always a pleasure to deliver the perfect Party / Wedding whatever the season.

The Lowry Theatre Compass Room

The Lowry Theatre Compass Room

Have you considered The Lowry Theatre to host your Wedding Breakfast/Reception? The beautiful Compass Room is an ideal venue. It has a few big ticks that all Party’s should have. The bar is in the same room as the dance floor and there is a large balcony which is great for any smokers in the party. It helps keep all your guests together and centres the party around the entertainment. Trust me there is nothing worse than a bar in a different room and all the blokes are propping  it up. Watch the day turn to night with panoramic views of Media City illuminated at night. It’s a perfect photo opportunity. I have DJ’d many Weddings here. If you would like a chat then please get in touch.

Recent Education I have booked on to attend

Recent Education I have booked on to attend is the Pro Mobile Conference 2014 in Oxford. This event is by far my number one favourite event of the year. I meet so many positive like minded people and learn so many different ideas that give me a great motivational boost for the coming Wedding Season. It’s a 2 day conference with an overnight stay. Attending this year will be Randy Bartlett who is one of the top American Wedding DJs. He will be giving a couple of seminars which I’m sure will be a big eye opener. Other guests include: Sharon Knight – Personal Branding, Rob Brown – Networking and referrals, Howard Wing – Wedding Marketing, Tom Salinsky – Storytelling for sales and special guest Mark Goodier Radio DJ. Other highlights include a networking breakfast, lunch and a technology breakout rooms.

Then in April it’s the National Association of Disc Jockeys Annual Conference in London. One of the highlights is again networking with some fantastic DJs and sharing ideas. This year they have managed to secure the services of Mark Ferrell from California. He’s runs a very successful company called Marbecca. They teach DJs how to become competent Master of Ceremonies and public speakers. The will be presenting a seminar called “Get What You Are Worth” the 1st time he has presented this in the UK.

So two fantastic dates to look forward to, at least until September and BPM in Birmingham.

Recent Uplighting Event at Irlam Catholic Club

This was a Recent Uplighting Event at Irlam Catholic Club for a 40th Birthday Party. I have worked this room on many occasions but have never been booked to provide uplighting before. I was flabbergasted with the final look. It looked awesome!!! The pictures doesn’t do it justice.  Here I used 15 Uplighters. Something similar to this starts at £250 with a colour of your choice.
