We are Regional Finalists for The Wedding Industry Awards
Thank You to all my Brides & Grooms who firstly booked me to provide Wedding Entertainment and Lighting Effects over the last 12 months at your Weddings and secondly for taking the time to vote for me at The Wedding Industry Awards Website. I feel privileged to have been shortlisted for the Regional Finals.
Carla & Chris got Married in August 2014 at Mere Golf And Country Club. It’s a beautiful venue with some lovely grounds for pictures that create memories. The venue is very adaptable for party size. One point to make you aware of is sometimes there will be 2 or 3 parties on at the venue. This isn’t an issue as the parties are kept well apart but be aware you won’t have the venue exclusively. The staff are attentive and the service runs on time. I provided my full reception entertainment package and we had an awesome night with a full dance floor from start to finish…
My recommendations for a venue this size is you should be willing to go big on your lighting and entertainment as the room can carry it well. By this my recommendations would be:
Uplighting (Choose what colour to make the venue walls match your theme)
White LED Twinkling Dance Floor or Black Twinkling Dancefloor
Drapery (This adds opulance to the room giving the room a lift)
PhotoBooth or Mirror (The Mirrors are the new trend set to explode in 2015/16)
Monograms (Project your logo or Name/Initials onto a wall or dance floor)
Giant Love Letters with Heart (Mine are 15ft in length and nearly 6ft. Not the cheap flimsy ones)
The entertainment and lighting will set the scene and get it right you and your guests will have a party to remember for many years to come
The venue also has a hotel attached so be sure to get your guests rooms booked early to guarantee a room especially if they have to travel far to attend
***Update – Carla has now given birth to her 1st child!!! Absolutely made up for you both
Mark & Mel got married at Irlam Steelworks Club in August 2014 and kept it local.
The full day was a very relaxed atmosphere and the fact it was in the same town most of the guests come from which was a big plus point. No guests had to worry about taxi’s and the bar was very well priced which can be a barrier at posh hotels for some guests. This led to a packed dance floor and fun had by all.
Irlam Steelworks Club have 3 function rooms but for a wedding only the main room is a viable option. On site there is also a kitchen that can be used for a small charge so catering can be done usually buffet style. Irlam Steel can cater for Weddings comfortably for upto 150 guests.
In the pictures below you can see how Mark & Mel hired from me the uplighting which worked really well. The 1st picture you can see they were bright in the day and the second picture you can see it’s now dark outside and the really do make the room pop! This room benefits from 14 uplights to get the best effect. This works out at £196 for all day hire.
My recommendations for this venue is to keep it simple. By this my recommendations would be:
Uplighting (Choose what colour to make the venue walls match your theme) £14 per unit minimum of 12
Dry Ice 1st Dance
Starlit Backdrop with Starlit Head Table Skirt and Cake Starlit Table Skirt
The entertainment and lighting will set the scene and get it right you and your guests will have a party to remember for many years to come
Colshaw Hall is a Luxury Wedding Venue that Jess & Rick got married at in Aug 2014. This venue is top end and certainly makes you feel like you have the full 300 acre private estate to yourself. This is a fairly new wedding venue which underwent a conversion from family home to top class wedding venue in the noughties. The standard of fit is top end and the staff where helpful and friendly. Getting married on site has some beautiful options. The gorgeous Japanese style garden features a miniature lake, complete with bridge for a romantic and intimate backdrop for a wedding portrait or an atmospheric place to relax during an event. Jess and Rick had a very young crowd attending their wedding and had asked me for a up-tempo Dance/RnB/Chart music feel. Usually this is a no no for a wedding as the guests are a big mix of ages. However, after our client meeting we came up with a plan of action on how to tackle the night. Working with a Sax player the night was a massive success and worked a treat, turning out to be one of my favourite nights I’ve done. Access for disabled guests is very good.
Recommendations – The room is a perfect size for most weddings.
Entertainment I would recommend is: Uplighting, LED Twinkle Dance Floor, Dry Ice 1st Dance, Monogram, Giant Love Letters
*** Think about the logistics!!! If you live in Manchester you need to realistically be putting on a coach for your guests to get to and from the venue. This can take away a lot of stress for your guests if they live a fair distance. You want them to have a drink and have fun. By doing this they won’t need a designated driver and will stay the full night. Also some guests may struggle with the cost of hotels and taxi fares if the venue is a distance. A coach takes all them worries away
Dance In The Clouds for your first dance and allow your photographer to really get some awesome pictures to treasure forever. Dry Ice is relatively new in terms of the wedding market. Not many DJs/companies do it. I decided to offer the effect it to differentiate myself from the competition and overnight night B+Gs and other vendors/venues are floored by how nice it makes the room look.
This was at the Black Swan in Hollins Green. They only accept Friday Weddings now as it is a busy venue in it’s own right. It has also just had a £1million refit with hotel added onto it. On Saturday 16th I provided an all day Wedding Day package. This involved:
1) I provided the Ceremony Music in the Church (Before/during/after)
2) Next I was already set up in the venue to provide Master of Ceremony duties.
3) Background Music was played whilst Dinner was served
4) Background music was played for the Drinks Reception
5) Disco was provided till 1am
My clients also booked…..
6) Uplighters to create coloured washes of light onto the room walls
8) Dry Ice (Dancing In The Clouds)
9) Candelabra Hire
To book any of these services please contact me for a chat or to book a meeting
On the 9th August 2014 I provided my services to Clare & Andy Ivers for their special wedding at the Compass Room in The Lowry Theatre. This room is great for a number of reasons.
1) Close to Manchester. Close to the Metro Link. Close to Hotels. Close to shops and restaurants if you are staying over night.
2) The Bar is in the same room as the main event. This will always help your event be more successful. It keeps your guests close to the dance floor.
3) Like number 2 your smokers will never be far away. A balcony surrounds the glass room. It is on the 4th floor so everyone stays where they need to be.
4) Panoramic Views of Manchester/Salford at night. You will see Media City, Imperial War Museaum and Old Trafford FC lit up for perfect photo opportunities.
A key consideration is Audio Volume. If they have any shows on downstairs in the theatre then volume is restricted until after 10pm. Also your DJ needs to plug into The Lowrys own PA System and cannot use they’re personal PA. Ive done this room many times and it is never a problem.
I always find the staff helpful and friendly and the venue offers plenty of photo opportunities with the industry and bridges just outside.
This room would benefit from a Dry Ice 1st Dance which would give it the wow factor as well as my Giant LOVE Letters and some professional chair covers. When it is dressed correctly I find the room to look very impressive and I love how much natural light enters the room.
To get The Look at your Wedding requires you to choose the right people to represent you on your big day. In this picture the Mood Lighting accentuates the background in Vibrant Purple. With over 30,000 colour combinations we can certainly get an almost identical match to whatever you need. We offer two options when booking moodlighting.
Option 1 – 1 Colour in a Static Mode. This will stay the same colour to match your theme all night. £260
Option 2 – 1 Colour in a Static Mode until the Disco starts. We then control the colours to change quickly, slowly with many possibilities. They can strobe, do sound 2 light, Black Out or use a set program. £290
Saturday 7th June 2014 at the Rhinewood Country Club I did Kelly & James’ Wedding Reception. It was an absolute fantastic night with some great family and friends. They will be sunning it up now in the very hot Tenerife. Thank you for booking me guys! This picture was at the end of a very hot and sweaty night on my iPhone Camera so the picture is a little pixelated.
Update…. Sadly the venue has now closed and is being demolished to make way for housing
So on the 24th May 2014 I was invited to provide my entertainment services for a fantastic wedding. Anthony & Danielle Grey were to be married at St Teresa’s Church in Irlam followed by a Wedding Breakfast/Reception at the beautiful Statham Lodge in Lymm. Although I am NOT a videographer I have provided video for around 5 Weddings and for this day I was booked for the Video too. This was a pleasure to do as I got to see the Wedding Prep – Final Dance. The special effect you see in the video is called Dry Ice that I use for the 1st Dance. The FX gives the look of Dancing in the Clouds. This gives your photographer the perfect opportunity to for UNIQUE 1st Dance photos that will WoW your friends and family. Manchester Wedding DJ Specialist Statham Lodge
Last night I had the pleasure of providing DJ Services at the Irish World Heritage Centre in Manchester. The Venue is brand new and only the 1st phase is complete. This will be a beast of a development once completed with excellent facilities as well as a central position within Manchester. The event was for a Cath & Joe who were celebrating their 70th Birthday (Born 6 Hours Apart). The best part of this story is they have been married 50 years and as a Surprise I asked if they would redo their 1st Dance from their Wedding Day which we did before the buffet. The song was The Drifters – Save the Last Dance for me.
I’d like to thank Tony O’Mara for asking me to provide the entertainment for his parents birthday he must be feeling a little sore today after his “Failed” attempt at break dancing. Tony helped organise the event with other family members and you could tell he put a lot off time and effort into the night.
Line Dancing, Irish Music as well as classics this great family and friends really did themselves proud THE TRUE IRISH WAY.
